Signing a Bond or Bond Rider for Control Persons (MU2 Individuals)

Control Persons (MU2 individuals) sign bonds or bond riders in their individual NMLS account when designated as a signatory by a company user.

About this task

When a company user designates a Control Person as the bond signatory, the bond appears in the individual’s NMLS account. The Control Person must log in and sign the bond electronically.

Note: Delivery of the bond to the regulator is completed by a company user through the Mark Ready process.

Procedure

Navigate to the NMLS Login page (State Context).
Log in to your NMLS account.
Click the Filing tab, then click Surety Bonds.
Click Review next to the bond that requires your signature.
Enter your title in the Signatory Title field.
Check the box in the attestation language.
Click Sign to complete the signature, or click Cancel to return without signing.

Note: If corrections are needed, a company user must return the bond to the surety for changes.
