Granting Authority to Your Surety Bond Issuer
Learn how to grant authority to your surety bond issuer in NMLS, enabling them to submit and manage your electronic surety bond for state licensing compliance.
About this task
Granting authority to a surety bond issuer allows both the surety company and its bond producer to create and manage bonds on behalf of your company in NMLS.
Procedure
- Navigate to the NMLS Login page (State Context).
- Log in to your NMLS account.
- From the Home screen, click the Tasks tab.
- Click Surety Bonds from the top menu bar or the main description panel.
- In the left navigation panel, click Authorized Surety Entities.
- Click Add Surety at the bottom of the screen.
- Enter the Surety Identifier (NAIC/NPN) or Surety Entity Name of the entity, then click Search.
- Select the radio button for the desired entity from the returned results.
- Click Grant Authority at the bottom of the page to complete the process.
