Overseeing Company Activity Using NMLS Reports

Generate standard reports in NMLS to oversee your company’s activity and sponsored mortgage loan originators (MLOs).

About this task

NMLS provides a set of standard reports that companies can use to monitor licensing activity and sponsored MLO compliance. Reports are delivered as downloadable CSV files for further analysis. A user must have the Reports Role in order to access the Reports tab to generate reports.

Refer to the Company Reports Field Definitions (PDF) for a full list of available reports and the data included in each.

Except for minor adjustments to account for holidays, the following rules apply regarding the availability of data for Reports:

  • ‘As of Date’ Reports: Reports with an ‘As of’ date that falls on Monday through Thursday will include data current as of the previous day. Reports with a ‘As of’ date that falls on Friday through Sunday will include data current as of the preceding Thursday.
  • ‘Since Date’ Reports: Reports requested on Monday through Thursday will include data up to and including the previous day. Reports requested on Friday through Sunday will include data up to and including the previous Thursday.
  • Ad Hoc/Custom Reports: NMLS provides system users with the ability to request additional information in the form of an “ad hoc” report. For more information refer to NMLS Ad Hoc and Custom Report Requests.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the NMLS Login page (State Context).
  2. Log in to your NMLS account.
  3. Click the Reports tab.
  4. Click Request New Report.
  5. Select the desired report from the list.
  6. Enter the desired report criteria and click Request Report.
  7. Refresh the screen until the report status changes from Pending to Available.
  8. Click the Excel icon to download the report as a CSV file.
