Overseeing Company Activity Using NMLS Reports

Generate standard reports in NMLS to oversee your company’s activity and sponsored mortgage loan originators (MLOs).

About this task

NMLS provides a set of standard reports that companies can use to monitor licensing activity and sponsored MLO compliance. Reports are delivered as downloadable CSV files for further analysis. A user must have the Reports Role in order to access the Reports tab to generate reports.

Refer to the Company Reports Field Definitions (PDF) for a full list of available reports and the data included in each.

Except for minor adjustments to account for holidays, the following rules apply regarding the availability of data for Reports:

  • ‘As of Date’ Reports: Reports with an ‘As of’ date that falls on Monday through Thursday will include data current as of the previous day. Reports with a ‘As of’ date that falls on Friday through Sunday will include data current as of the preceding Thursday.
  • ‘Since Date’ Reports: Reports requested on Monday through Thursday will include data up to and including the previous day. Reports requested on Friday through Sunday will include data up to and including the previous Thursday.
  • Ad Hoc/Custom Reports: NMLS provides system users with the ability to request additional information in the form of an “ad hoc” report. For more information refer to NMLS Ad Hoc and Custom Report Requests.
Table 1. Report Descriptions
Authorized Agent Roster This report provides a list of the authorized delegates that are submitted by the company. Criteria for the report can be filtered by the option to include option to Include terminated authorized agent relationships
CBC Compliance Report The report displays the Criminal Background Check authorization status for MU2/MU4 individuals licensed or seeking licensure who have successfully completed a criminal background check since the date requested.
Co-Br Active License Items The report displays a list of the company and branch outstanding (un-cleared) license items as of the report requested date.
Company Branch Roster by License Type Report (Company) The report displays a list of the company and branches and their license information within a regulatory agency as of a past or present date.
Company-Branch Roster by Contact Information This report displays a list of companies and branches and their license information within a regulatory agency as of a past or present date. The report also provides all the qualifying branch managers that are associated to the license.
Individual Active License Items Identifies outstanding license items (deficiencies and requirements) placed on active individual licenses by the system or by the regulating agency as of the report requested date.
Individual Roster Displays a list of all individuals and their email address that have approved licenses or pending applications with the regulator's agency.
MLO TA Eligibility Report The report contains the list of all individuals who the company has access to and could become eligible for Temporary Authority provided they are/become an employee of the company.
PE and Testing Compliance The report displays a list of individuals actively licensed or seeking licensure that are compliant with their SAFE Pre-licensure Education and/or testing requirements.
PE and Testing Non-Compliance The report displays a list of individuals actively licensed or seeking licensure that are not compliant with their SAFE Pre-licensure Education and/or testing requirements.
Renewal Activity_Company and Branch This report is available on the Renewals tab year-round and displays a list of all active company and branch licenses based on the query selected.
Renewal Activity_Sponsored Individuals This report is available on the Renewals tab year-round and displays a list all individual licenses that have an active sponsorship based on the query selected.
Sample Surety Bond Transaction Report (Company) Displays selected events for the Surety Bonds insured by a surety company or one of its subsidiary Underwriting Companies.
Sample Surety Bond Transaction Report (Producer) Displays selected events for the Surety Bonds for which a given Surety Bond Producer was the Broker of Record (BOR) at the time of or subsequent to the event.
Surety Bond Roster Report Company Contains a list of company licenses and electronic surety bond data linked to the license as well as any new bond data that has not yet been delivered to the regulator. If no license is associated with the bond then the license fields will be empty.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the NMLS Login page (State Context).
  2. Log in to your NMLS account.
  3. Click the Reports tab.
  4. Click Request New Report.
  5. Select the desired report from the list.
  6. Enter the desired report criteria and click Request Report.
  7. Refresh the screen until the report status changes from Pending to Available.
  8. Click the Excel icon to download the report as a CSV file.
