Paying MU4R Fees

Institutions are responsible for paying fees associated with MU4R filings submitted on behalf of Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs).

When an institution submits MU4R filings on behalf of MLOs, it must also remit payment for those filings. Payment can be completed directly in NMLS using either the Filing tab or the Tasks tab, depending on the institution user’s role and the type of invoice being paid.

Two payment options are available:

• Filing tab – Allows Account Administrators or Institution Users with the Federal Filings - Pay MU4R Fees role to pay for MU4R filings that they personally submitted.
• Tasks tab – Allows Account Administrators or Institution Users with the Tasks - Pay MU4R Fees role to pay for MU4R filings submitted by any user within the same institution.

Acceptable forms of payment include Visa®, Mastercard®, and ACH. Using ACH requires only a bank account number and routing number. Once submitted, NMLS processes the payment and provides confirmation of receipt.
