Attesting and Submitting an MU1 Amendment

Complete the final step of an MU1 amendment by legally attesting to the updated information and submitting it to state regulators through NMLS.

About this task

The Attest and Submit option is the final step when filing a Company (MU1) amendment. This action is only available after the filing passes all completeness checks (including any associated MU2 requirements when applicable). The attestation must display the name of a natural person after the word “I” and the licensee’s name after the word “of.” Selecting this option constitutes a legal attestation to all states in which the company is maintaining a license through NMLS. For authoritative requirements, see the NMLS Policy Guide.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the NMLS Login page (State Context).
  2. Log in to your NMLS account.
  3. Select Filing > Company (MU1) from the menu.
The Company Filing screen is displayed.
  4. Select Create New Filing.
The Company Form (MU1) opens, beginning on the Business Activities screen.
  5. Open the MU1 amendment filing you wish to submit and review the completeness check results.
Note: If errors are listed, click the section link to navigate to the issue, correct it, and return to the Attest and Submit section. Repeat until all errors are resolved.
  6. Review the attestation language displayed in the Attest and Submit section.
  7. Select the checkbox next to I verify that I am the named person above and that I am authorized to attest and submit this filing on behalf of the Licensee.
  8. Select Attest and Submit.
  9. If prompted, complete the payment process on the one-time payment page.
Note: You may be prompted for payment for certain amendments, but many amendments do not require a fee. For general fee information, see NMLS Processing Fees.
