Before you apply for an individual license or registration in NMLS, there are a several tasks you need to complete.

Completing Pre-Licensure Education

Before applying for an MLO license through NMLS, individuals must complete required Pre-Licensure Education (PE) as outlined by the SAFE Act. This education helps ensure that license applicants understand federal and state mortgage regulations, ethics, nontraditional mortgage products, and lending standards.
