Providing Expense Information

Provide information about entities that are responsible for branch expenses or have a financial interest in branch activities as part of the MU3 filing.

About this task

Use the Expense Information section of the Branch (MU3) Form if you answered Yes to the question in the Operation Information section: Other than the entity, is anyone responsible for the expenses or have a financial interest in the activities of this branch? This section identifies other parties who may have financial responsibility or a financial interest in branch operations.
Note: If there is an expense-sharing agreement for shared workspace, check with the regulator for state-specific requirements.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the NMLS Login page (State Context).
  2. Log in to your NMLS account.
  3. Select Filing > Branch (MU3) from the menu.
    The Branch Filing screen is displayed.
  4. Select Create New Filing.
    The Branch Search screen is displayed.
  5. Enter search criteria and select Search.
    The Branch Search Results screen is displayed.
  6. Select the desired Branch ID hyperlink.
    Note: If the branch record does not yet exist, select Create Branch to create it before starting the MU3 filing.
    The Branch Form (MU3) opens, beginning on the Business Activities screen.
  7. Open the Expense Information section.
  8. Click Add.
  9. Complete all required fields with details about the entity responsible for expenses or holding a financial interest in the branch.
  10. Click Save.
    Note: Repeat these steps to add multiple expense records. Use the Edit icon to amend or delete existing records.
