Responding to License Items for Individuals
Learn how to respond to license items issued by state regulators during the review of your MU4 application.
About this task
After submitting your MU4 filing, regulators may issue license items, which are requests for additional information or actions that are required to proceed with your application. Common license items include requests for documentation, updates to the MU4 form, or clarifications on disclosures or employment history.
You can view license items in the system and respond accordingly. In most cases, you must file an MU4 amendment to resolve the item.
Procedure
- Navigate to the NMLS Login page (State Context).
- Log in to your NMLS account.
-
Click the License Items hyperlink in the My
Licenses section.
The State License Item Information window appears for the selected license.
- Review the details of each license item listed.
- Determine the action required (e.g., submit an MU4 amendment, upload a document, complete a criminal background check, etc.).
-
If required, amend your MU4 filing accordingly.
Note: See Filing Amendments to the Individual MU4 Form for more information.
