Submitting a Credit Report for MU2 Individuals

Request and submit a credit report for your MU2 Form, complete the identity verification process, and attest to the filing.

About this task

Some state regulators require individuals identified in a company filing to authorize a credit report through NMLS. This process must be completed before the MU2 Form can be attested and submitted. The first time you request a credit report, you must also complete the Identity Verification (IDV) process.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the NMLS Login page (State Context).
  2. Log in to your NMLS account.
  3. Select the MU2 tab.
  4. Click Review and Attest to open your MU2 Form.
  5. Review all sections of the MU2 Form for accuracy, then select Credit Report Request from the left navigation panel.
  6. Select the checkbox for Request a new credit report and click Save.
  7. Click the Identity Verification (IDV) link.
Note: The IDV process is required only for your first credit report submission. Subsequent requests do not require repeating IDV.
  8. Read and agree to the TransUnion Smartmove Service Agreement by selecting the checkbox and clicking I Agree.
  9. Answer the identity verification questions generated from your TransUnion® credit report or demographic history.
  10. Click Finish, then Return to Filing.
  11. Select Attest and Submit from the left navigation panel.
  12. Review the attestation language, check the verification box, and click Submit Filing to submit the filing to your regulator.
Note: If you have a security freeze on your TransUnion credit profile, lift it before requesting the report. If not lifted, the filing and payment will be void and must be resubmitted once the freeze is cleared.
