Enrolling in the SAFE MLO Test

Many state agencies require a passing score on the National Component with Uniform State Content and/or State Components of the SAFE MLO Test and completion of pre-licensure education prior to submitting the Individual (MU4) Form application for licensure.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the NMLS Login page (State Context).
  2. Log in to your NMLS account.
  3. Click the Testing Home tile in the Quick Links section.
  4. Click the Pay for Test button.
  5. Click National Test with UST.
    Note: Click the Pay for Tests in Cart link on the left navigation panel to pay for SAFE tests that may already exist in your Test Cart.
  6. Click the Add to Cart button.
    Note: If applicable, click the Remove button to delete SAFE tests from your Test Cart.
  7. Click the Proceed to Candidate Agreement button.
  8. Review the agreement and click the I Accept button.
  9. Click the Pay Invoice button to continue to the payment screens and remit payment.

Results

You have successfully enrolled in a test.

You should receive an email confirmation instructing you to schedule your test.

What to do next

Click the Testing Home tile in the Quick Links section, and click the Schedule - Test Center button. You will be directed to the Prometric website to schedule an appointment to take the test.
