NMLS Annual Reinstatement Period
The NMLS Reinstatement Period runs from January 1 through the end of February and provides a second opportunity to submit a renewal request if the initial deadline was missed.
If you fail to complete the standard license renewal process between November 1 and December 31, you may still be eligible to submit a renewal request during the Reinstatement Period.
The Reinstatement Period begins on January 1 and ends on the last day of February. During this time, NMLS remains open to receive late renewal submissions for licenses in participating states.
Reinstatement requests are similar to standard renewal requests but may include additional state-specific late fees or requirements. Some state agencies may not participate in reinstatement or may impose strict review criteria for reinstatement eligibility.
If a reinstatement request is submitted, the state agency will review it and determine whether to approve or deny the request. If denied, the license remains terminated and must be reapplied for as a new license.
