Failing to Renew Your License

If you do not complete the renewal process by the deadline, your license may be terminated or marked ineligible, and you may be required to reinstate it if permitted by the state agency.

If you do not submit a renewal request and complete attestation by December 31, your license may be considered inactive or terminated, depending on the policies of each state agency. Some agencies may offer a reinstatement period from January 1 through the end of February, allowing you to renew late with additional fees.

If reinstatement is not allowed or not submitted in time, your license will remain terminated and you must reapply as a new applicant to regain licensure in that state.

You are responsible for reviewing the renewal policies and deadlines for each state in which you are licensed to ensure compliance. Late renewal may result in fines, enforcement actions, or disruption to your ability to conduct licensed activities.
