Completing Application Requirements Submitted Outside of NMLS
Learn how to identify and complete application requirements that must be submitted directly to state agencies outside of NMLS.
About this task
Some MU4 requirements must be completed outside of the NMLS system and submitted directly to the appropriate state agency.
Information about the requirements that must be completed outside of the NMLS system can be accessed via the Agency Guidance section of the Individual MU4 Form.

Procedure
- Navigate to the NMLS Login page (State Context).
- Log in to your NMLS account.

Click the Add New License button in the My
Licenses section or the MU4 Filing link under
My Tasks if you already have a filing in progress.
An MU4 Form is opened.
- Click the Agency Guidance link on the left navigation panel.
- Review the agency guidance provided for the licenses that are a part of your Individual MU4 Filing.
- Identify all requirements that are indicated to sent directly to the state agency.
- Prepare and submit all required documents within the timeframe listed in the Agency Guidance section.
