Gathering Renewal Requirements
Before you can renew your license, you must gather all state-specific requirements using the NMLS Renewal Checklist Compiler and the Renewal Deadlines, Requirements, and Fees Chart.
The steps and documentation required to renew your license vary by state. Before beginning the renewal process, you must review and collect all required information and verify that you meet each state’s requirements.
You can use the Annual Renewal Checklist to generate a customized checklist of all items required for renewal in each state where you are licensed. This checklist will identify submission steps, documentation requirements, and whether any agency-specific actions are required outside of NMLS.
In addition, refer to the Renewal Deadlines, Requirements, and Fees Chart to confirm the key dates and fees associated with each renewal. You can filter the chart to display only individual licenses and select the states in which you are licensed to see tailored results.
Review both tools carefully to ensure you have completed all prerequisite items prior to submitting your renewal request. Failure to meet even one requirement may delay or prevent your license from being renewed.
