NMLS Annual Renewal Overview for Individuals

NMLS provides a renewal window each year from November 1 to December 31 during which individuals may submit renewal requests for their state licenses.

Each year, individuals and companies licensed through NMLS must complete the renewal process between November 1 and December 31. During this window, NMLS provides functionality for individuals to:

Submit renewal requests for one or more licenses
Complete attestation
Pay applicable renewal fees

State regulators use NMLS to review submitted renewal requests. Based on the information in the request and the individual's compliance with continuing education and background check requirements, the regulator may approve or reject the renewal.

Individuals are responsible for ensuring their record is accurate, all requirements are fulfilled, and renewal is submitted before the deadline to avoid delays, additional fees, or license termination.
