Reinstating Company Licenses or Registrations
Learn how companies can reinstate expired or lapsed licenses in NMLS if permitted by their state regulator.
The process for reinstating company licenses or registrations in NMLS is the same as renewing them, but it occurs after the annual renewal deadline of December 31. The reinstatement period runs from January 1 through the end of February, and participation depends on the requirements of each state regulator.
To complete reinstatement, companies follow the same steps as for a renewal, including attesting to the accuracy of their record, submitting the reinstatement request, and paying all required fees. Additional reinstatement fees or penalties may also apply.
