Renewing Company Licenses or Registrations

Learn the basic concept of company license and registration renewals in NMLS and navigate to related renewal topics.

Each year, companies licensed through NMLS must complete the annual renewal process to maintain their licenses or registrations. The renewal period runs from November 1 through December 31, with a reinstatement period offered by some state agencies from January 1 through the end of February.

See the Renewals for State-Licensed Companies self-paced e-learning course for a step-by-step walkthrough of the entire renewal process in NMLS.

Renewals involve attesting to the accuracy of the company’s record, addressing any outstanding license items, and submitting the required fees through NMLS. Some states may have additional requirements communicated in renewal checklists.
