NMLS Navigation for Surety Bond Producers

Surety bond producers access Electronic Surety Bond (ESB) functions and related reporting through key areas of the NMLS interface, including the Home tab, Dashboard, Tasks tab, and Composite View.

Surety bond producer users interact with NMLS primarily through a set of interface areas that organize ESB data, tasks, and administrative functions. The Surety Bond Producer Dashboard displays bond activity and pending actions related to all bonds where the producer is identified as the active producer.

Main navigation areas

  • Home tab: Landing area displaying the Surety Bond Producer Dashboard, which summarizes bond activity and pending actions specific to the producer’s organization.
  • Dashboard: Provides a live view of active bonds, pending items, and form updates. Users can click linked counts to access detailed records in the Manage Bonds page.
  • Tasks tab: Contains menus for operational activities such as responding to association requests, creating and managing bonds, and maintaining representative designations. Most ESB workflow actions begin here.
  • Composite View: Displays detailed information about associated surety companies, including authorizations, underwriting entities, and active association data.
  • Reports tab: Enables authorized users to generate or view reports summarizing ESB activity, including bond counts, cancellations, and revisions.

Accessing ESB functions

From the Dashboard or Tasks tab, users can perform common ESB activities, including:

  • Viewing and managing bonds where the producer is the active producer
  • Approving or correcting association requests from surety companies
  • Reviewing returned or pending bonds and riders
  • Monitoring revisions, cancellations, and bonds requiring form updates
  • Accessing bonds requiring representative signatures
Note: Displayed navigation options depend on each user’s assigned roles. For example, users with the Manage Bonds or Manage Associations and Representatives roles can access additional ESB management functions that may not appear for other users.

Surety Bond Producer Dashboard

The Surety Bond Producer Dashboard serves as the central workspace for monitoring ESB activity. It provides bond counts and direct links to manage active, pending, or returned bonds, riders, and form updates. For detailed descriptions of each dashboard section, see Surety Bond Producer Dashboard.
