- 1.0 Overview and Test Specifications
  This chapter includes basic information about the SAFE MLO Test, including background, length, and cost.
- 2.0 Test Enrollment Procedures (NMLS)
  This chapter details how individuals can register and pay for the SAFE MLO Test.
  - Request an Individual NMLS Account
    If you are a Mortgage Loan Originator, Control Person, Qualifying Individual, or Branch Manager, you need an NMLS Account to create and attest to your record in NMLS.
  - Viewing Your NMLS ID
    For Individuals with an existing NMLS account, follow these steps to view your NMLS ID.
  - Individual Test Enrollments
    Once a SAFE test is paid for, the individual will have 180 days to schedule the testing appointment and take the test.
  - Company Test Enrollments for Individual
    Prior to scheduling an appointment to take a S.A.F.E. National Test at a test center, a test enrollment must be requested and paid for in NMLS. All Account Administrators and any company user with the “Manage Test Enrollment” role can request test enrollments for Individuals under the Testing sub-section of the MLO Testing & Education tab if the company has access to the Individual’s record.

Viewing Your NMLS ID

For Individuals with an existing NMLS account, follow these steps to view your NMLS ID.

Procedure

Navigate to the NMLS Login page (State Context).
Log in to your NMLS account.
Your NMLS ID number is displayed next to your name in the upper-left corner of the screen in NMLS Connect.
