Using the Checklist Compiler

Use the Checklist Compiler on the NMLS Resource Center to find and export state licensing checklists that outline what requirements you must complete for an NMLS filing (including tasks inside and outside NMLS).

About this task

The Checklist Compiler lets you search for and export state licensing checklists for NMLS filings. The exported checklists summarize requirements you must complete both within NMLS and with state agencies outside of NMLS.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the State Licensing Checklist Compiler.
  2. In the Checklist Compiler, select the type of filing you are trying to submit.
    New Application, Transition, Amendment, or Surrender.
  3. Find your license type:
    1. Enter a keyword in the search box to filter results (for example, type mortgage).
    2. Use the arrow (>) controls to expand each agency’s list of available license types.
  4. Select the checklist(s) to export.
    Note: Use the radio button to the left of the license name to make your selection. Clicking directly on a license name clears any prior selection.
  5. Click Export Checklist.
    Note: Your browser downloads the selected checklist(s) as PDF files. Review these PDFs to identify requirements your company must complete inside NMLS and any actions required outside NMLS.
