Company Licenses Description Requirements Checklist
Exempt Company Registration The exempt mortgage company registration is OPTIONAL and is provided for companies who are not required to be licensed under Oklahoma law, but employ individuals or utilize independent contractors required to be licensed under Oklahoma law and wishes to take advantage of efficiencies the system offers.
Mortgage Broker License This license is required of any business entity, who for compensation or gain, or in the expectation of compensation or gain, takes a residential mortgage loan application or offers, negotiates or modifies the terms of an existing residential mortgage loan on Oklahoma residential property for others. 59 O.S. § 2095.2 (12)
Mortgage Lender License A mortgage lender is an entity that takes an application for a residential mortgage loan, makes a residential mortgage loan or services a residential mortgage loan and is an approved or authorized mortgagee with direct endorsement underwriting authority granted by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, seller or servicer of the Federal National Mortgage Association or the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, or issuer for the Government National Mortgage Association. 59 O.S. § 2095.2 (13)
Small Lender License A person who regularly makes loans for a fee or induces a consumer, while located in this State, to enter Into a small loan in this state through the use of facsimile, telephone, internet or other means. Oklahoma Statute: Title 59 O.S. § Section 3150.2 (A)
Branch Licenses Description Requirements Checklist
Mortgage Broker Branch License This license is required for all offices, other than the main office identified on the Mortgage Broker License, whether located in Oklahoma or not, which conducts business with Oklahoma consumers. 59 O.S. § 2095.11 (B)
Mortgage Lender Branch License This license is required of an entity, unless exempt, that takes an application for a residential mortgage loan, makes a residential mortgage loan or services a residential mortgage loan and is an approved or authorized mortgagee with direct endorsement underwriting authority granted by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, seller or servicer of the Federal National Mortgage Association or the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, or issuer for the Government National Mortgage Association. 59 O.S. § 2095.11.1 (7)
