Common Requirements

The following requirements are handled through a common process for all jurisdictions:

Renewals - Annual license renewal for 2010

Company Licenses Description Requirements Checklist
Mortgage Banker License This license is required for the principal office location of acompany or sole proprietorship who, for compensation or gain, or in the expectation of compensation or gain, either directly or indirectly engages in the business of making mortgage loans secured by real property located in New Hampshire. This license enables mortgage bankers to engage in the mortgage broker business without obtaining a separate license. (More Details)
Mortgage Broker License This license is required for the principal office location of a company or sole proprietorship who for compensation or gain, or in the expectation of compensation or gain, either directly or indirectly engages in the business of brokering mortgage loans secured by real property located in New Hampshire. Mortgage Servicer Registration This registration is required for the principal office location of all companies or sole proprietorships that engage in the business of servicing mortgage loans secured by real property located in the State of New Hampshire (More Details)
Exempt Company Registration This registration is available for any company that employs state-licensed mortgage loan originators but is not required to be licensed under the laws of New Hampshire. This registration is optional and is intended for companies that wish to manage their mortgage loan originator in NMLS. Please consult the state regulator before applying for this registration. Branch Licenses Description Requirements Checklist
Mortgage Banker License (Branch) This license is required for all locations within and without the State of New Hampshire that are identified by any means to the public as locations at which a mortgage banker conducts New Hampshire mortgage business, other than the principal office location. Mortgage Broker License (Branch) This license is required for all locations within and without the State of New Hampshire that are identified by any means to the public as locations at which a mortgage broker conducts New Hampshire mortgage business, other than the principal office location. Mortgage Servicer Branch Registration This registration is required for all locations within and without the State of New Hampshire that are identified by any means to the public as locations at which a mortgage servicing company conducts New Hampshire mortgage business, other than the principal office location. Individual Licenses Description Requirements Checklist
Mortgage Loan Originator License This license is required for all individuals who for direct or indirect compensation or gain or in the expectation of direct or indirect compensation or gain, takes a mortgage application or offers, negotiates, solicits, arranges, or finds a mortgage loan or who assists a consumer in obtaining or applying to obtain a mortgage loan by, among other things, advising on loan terms (including rates, fees, and other costs), preparing loan packages, or collecting information on behalf of the consumer with regard to a mortgage loan or who offers or negotiates terms of a residential mortgage loan. A sole proprietor licensed as a mortgage broker, mortgage servicer, or mortgage banker shall also obtain a license as a mortgage originator prior to engaging in the activities of a mortgage originator.
