Credit Services Organization License |
Pursuant to K.S.A. Supp. 50-1116 et seq. and amendments thereto, the Kansas Credit Services Organization Act, a Credit Services Organization License is required for any person that engages in, or holds out to the public as willing to engage in, the business of debt management services for a fee, compensation or gain, or in the expectation of a fee, compensation or gain. |

Money Transmitter License |
This license is required for any person (individual, partnership, association, joint-stock association, trust, corporation or any other form of business enterprise) who engages in the business of the sale or issuance of payment instruments or of receiving money or monetary value for transmission to a location within or outside of the United States by wire, facsimile, electronic means or any other means, except that money transmission does not include currency exchange where no transmission of money occurs. |

Mortgage Company License |
This license is required for the principal place of business of any entity engaging in, or holding out to the public as willing to engage in, for compensation or gain, or in the expectation of compensation or gain, directly or indirectly, mortgage business activity on Kansas residential property. This license is required for the principal place of business for any entity making supervised loans involving Kansas consumers or taking assignments of and directly or indirectly collecting payments from debtors or enforcing rights against debtors arising from supervised loans involving Kansas consumers. Mortgage Company Branch Registration |
Kansas Mortgage Company Licensees are required to report all branch office locations to the Kansas Office of the State Bank Commissioner (OSBC).
“Branch office” means a place of business, other than a principal place of business, where the mortgage company maintains a physical location for the purpose of conducting mortgage business with the public.
Mortgage business is engaging in, or holding out to the public as willing to engage in, for compensation or gain, or in the expectation of compensation or gain, directly or indirectly, the business of making, originating, servicing, soliciting, placing, negotiating, acquiring, selling, arranging for others, or holding the rights to or offering to solicit, place, negotiate, acquire, sell or arrange for others, mortgage loans involving Kansas residential property under the Kansas Mortgage Business Act. A new branch application for these locations must be submitted through NMLS to obtain a branch registration. There are no OSBC fees for the registration.

Supervised Loan License (Branch) |
This license is required for all additional locations, other than the principal place of business identified on the Supervised Loan License, that engage in making supervised loans or taking assignment of and directly or indirectly undertaking collection of payments from or enforcing rights against debtors arising from supervised loans with Kansas consumers. The SAFE Act requirements only pertain to companies and loan originators conducting mortgage business activities. (More Details) |

This license is required of any individual conducting residential mortgage loan origination activities with Kansas consumers on behalf of a single licensed Mortgage Company or Supervised Lender from locations licensed to conduct activity in Kansas. (More Details) |
