Company Licenses Description Requirements Checklist
Combination of Mortgage Broker, Mortgage Banker and/or Mortgage Servicer Licenses This is required of any person wishing to apply for two (2) or more of the following licenses: Mortgage Broker, Mortgage Banker, and/or Mortgage Servicer. The license requirements of each separate license types of Mortgage Broker, Mortgage Banker, and/or Mortgage Servicer must be met. (More Details)
Currency Exchanger License Any person who engages in currency exchange or advertises, solicits, or holds themselves out as providing currency exchange for which the person receives revenues equal to or greater than five percent of total revenues. Currency exchange means receipt of revenues from the exchange of money of one government for money of another government. Ark. Code Ann. § 23-55-102(6) and Ark. Code Ann. § 23-55-401(a).
Money Transmitter License The Arkansas Uniform Money Services Act, generally requires a person or business to have a license to engage in money services activity in Arkansas. A person that engages in money transmission must have a money transmission license. Money transmission includes: o Receiving money or its equivalent value to transmission; o Sell, issue, or act as an intermediary for stored value devices; o Issuing or selling prepaid access cards; o A bill payer service; and o Informal money transfer system engaged in as a business for transferring money outside the conventional financial institutions system.
Mortgage Banker License This license is required for any person that engages in the business of making mortgage loans for compensation or other gain. (More Details)
Mortgage Broker License This license is required for any person, who for compensation or other gain, or in the expectation of compensation or other gain, directly or indirectly accepts or offers to accept an application for a mortgage loan; solicits or offers to solicit an application for mortgage loan; negotiates or offers to negotiate the terms or conditions of a mortgage loan; or issues or offers to issue mortgage loan commitments or interest rate guarantee agreements to borrowers. Mortgage Servicer License This license is required of any person that receives from or on behalf of a borrower funds or credits in payment for a mortgage loan, or the taxes or insurance associated with a mortgage loan. (More Details)
Branch Licenses Description Requirements Checklist
Combination of Mortgage Broker, Mortgage Banker and/or Mortgage Servicer Licenses (Branch) This is required for any location that is separate and distinct from the Combination of Mortgage Broker, Mortgage Banker and/or Mortgage Servicer principal place of business and includes a net branch or any location from which business is conducted under the license or in the name of the Mortgage Broker, Mortgage Banker, or Mortgage Servicer. Mortgage Banker License (Branch) This license is required for any location that is separate and distinct from the Mortgage Banker’s principal place of business and includes a net branch or any location from which business is conducted under the license or in the name of the Mortgage Banker. Individual Licenses Description Requirements Checklist
Loan Officer License This license is required for any individual, other than exempt person, who in exchange for compensation as an employee of or who otherwise receives compensation or remuneration from a Mortgage Broker or a Mortgage Banker licensed in Arkansas; solicits or offers to solicit an application for mortgage loan; accepts or offers to accept an application for mortgage loan; negotiates or offers to negotiate the terms or conditions of a mortgage loan; or issues or offers to issue mortgage loan commitment or interest rate guarantee agreement.
