 Managing MLOs Workshop

Managing Your Mortgage Loan Originators' Licenses through NMLS

Date (click to register)

Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 2:00-3:30 pm ET

NOTE: In order to register for this event, you will need to create a login ID on the CSBS website.  You cannot use your NMLS login ID.

Description

Companies will find a number of tools in NMLS for tracking and/or managing the licenses of their loan officers. Each loan officer required to be licensed will have a single record in NMLS. This single record will require greater responsibility among loan officers in managing their licenses. If managed appropriately, this greater responsibility can translate into greater efficiency for your company's compliance staff.

Through live demonstrations and the opportunity for a moderated question and answer period, participants will learn how to perform the tasks necessary to completely manage loan officer licenses (Form MU4s) through NMLS, including showing employment relationships and identifying the licenses your company is sponsoring on behalf of that loan officer.

NOTE: This workshop is not intended for employees of a federally insured depository. Such institutions are welcome to register, but currently no action in NMLS is required of them. For more, see Info for Federal Registrants.

What will participants learn?

  • The methods for creating loan officer records in NMLS and for obtaining Company Access to these records
  • How to Attest, Establish a Relationship, and Sponsor a License for loan officers
  • Suggested workflows to most efficiently transition existing loan officer licenses onto NMLS to meet state requirements
  • An understanding of how NMLS and state regulators will process loan officer transition requests and changes of employment
  • An overview of managing SAFE compliance requirements for loan originators

Who should participate?

  • NMLS Primary and Secondary Account Administrators
  • NMLS users that manage loan officer (Form MU4) applications
  • Company HR staff that hire or manage loan officers
